Day Ten
We're healthy, see? What you don't want while you're on holidays is the accountant saying you're missing something in your Tax packet! We spent most of today, verifying US IDs, so we could open US government accounts and get me a duplicate SSA-1099 form. Uggghhh!

Day Eleven
After the Oystercatcher, we spent a few hours catching up with former neighbors and good friends Mary and Joe at the Realm in Parksville.
Riverside Lodge
Twice a year Poul and I do a week-long writer's retreat in Port Alberni at the Riverside Lodge. Here we are at evening check-in around the fire. Fifteen of us this session setting our goals for the week.
Lots of Stuff
Day Twelve
Beautiful weather, a workout, a walk, many games of cards with my buddy, and 2000 words on my rough draft... a good day. I also got the SA-1099 to the accountant. Whew!
Productive Day
Day Thirteen
Poul and I take a break from writing to sit by the fire. All our writing is done in our suite which has a sitting area and two desks as well as a king bed. This is the common living area where we gather for socializing with our fabulous writing friends.
Kindred Legacy
What am I writing? This is my protagonist, Barbara Masters, a futuristic scientist who melds AI with organic material to create life with temporal abilities. This book will be ready for reading early in 2025.
Just another day...
Day Fourteen
I'm feeling charged about our holiday. I'm averaging 2000 words a day, working out, and having fun with my buds. The sun is shining... what more could I want. Oh, and yes there is chocolate!

Day Fifteen
Everyday at 10 AM Tammy leads a workout, affectionately known as 'Jim's Jump-around'. Here she's teaching increasingly intricate dance steps.

Day Sixteen
Poul an I got our next COVID booster in Port Alberni, then he took my writing group, the Van Isle Sluggers, out for dinner at the Starboard Grill. Excellent! Poul stands in front of the Lady Rose.

Day Seventeen
Some cars have already headed for home. We leave in the morning. We're happy with our productivity and a good time was had by all!

Days Eighteen/Nineteen
Before heading to Calgary, we returned to Westwind Harbour, booking a guestroom. Best sleep since I left twenty days ago!

Brunch was at the Danish club then off to the Badlands, the Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum and then the Voodoos with Poul's daughter Tammy and husband Compton. Watched Jurassic Park in their home theatre... how appropriate.
Banff Hot Springs
Last Day in Canada
Poul's daughter Tammy and husband Compton treated us to an adventure at the Banff Hot Springs. Tomorrow we are off to Florida!!!
